# Use cases

> Build signup enrichment, account prospecting, CRM enrichment, job change checks, email verification, and company identification with Waterfall.

Waterfall brings contact and company data into your GTM workflows. Start with the information you have, then find the people, company details, or contact channels you need for the next step.

## What are you building?

| Your goal | Start with | Guide |
| - | - | - |
| Understand who is signing up | An email address | [Enrich inbound signups](https://docs.waterfall.io/v1/use-cases/signup-enrichment.md) |
| Find relevant people at target accounts | A company domain and target job titles | [Find decision-makers](https://docs.waterfall.io/v1/use-cases/account-prospecting.md) |
| Fill gaps in contact and company records | A contact identifier or company domain | [Enrich your CRM](https://docs.waterfall.io/v1/use-cases/crm-enrichment.md) |
| Check whether a champion has changed companies | A professional email, or previous company plus contact identifier | [Track job changes](https://docs.waterfall.io/v1/use-cases/job-changes.md) |
| Check email addresses before outreach | A business or personal email address | [Verify emails](https://docs.waterfall.io/v1/use-cases/email-verification.md) |
| Identify companies visiting your website | An IPv4 address | [Identify visiting companies](https://docs.waterfall.io/v1/use-cases/website-company-identification.md) |

Each guide covers the right endpoint, an example request, the result to look for, and how to use it in a workflow. Waterfall supplies the data; your application decides how to score leads, update records, and trigger follow-up.

## One workflow can use several APIs

A signup workflow can match an email to a business profile, enrich the returned company domain, and pass those fields to your lead-routing rules. An account workflow can find contacts by job title, then request phone enrichment for the people you want to call.

Choose each step based on the information you need. [Search Contact](https://docs.waterfall.io/v1/search-contact-launcher.md) returns profiles with email addresses and phone numbers redacted. [Prospector](https://docs.waterfall.io/v1/prospector-launcher.md) finds contacts at a target account with email results, and [Contact Enrichment](https://docs.waterfall.io/v1/contact-enrichment-launcher.md) enriches a person you can already identify.

## Start with a small sample

Use a few records from your actual workflow to check whether the returned fields support your next decision. Review matches, missing data, and [usage costs](https://docs.waterfall.io/v1/inline-usage.md) before expanding the run.
